Defeat of the Cyber Pirates!

Although it feels like forever since I have published anything here, I am finally back after an attack by cyber pirates. I have had a suspicion for months that my computer had been assaulted and turned into a zombie for someones nefarious plans, then the old hard drive was boarded and pillaged!

Speaking of zombies, Brad Steiger is about to release a follow up to his wildly successful "Real Vampires" called "Real Zombies". It is packed full of true tales of encounters with the undead by various authors. Like "Real Vampires" I am humbly privileged to be one of the contributors. You can pre-order it here by clicking on the book cover!

I am putting the finishing touches on a new story that should be up today or tomorrow. Hopefully I will be back in full swing after this long lull and new updates will be coming regularly!

Until Next Time,
Pastor Swope

  3. Something happened a long time ago in northern Pennsylvania and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the Engish, you know George the fifth and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the prince.' True story. And so the devil said, 'Ok it’s a deal.' And they kicked the English out. The colonists revolted and got something -- themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another. -- Pat Robertson

  4. Heh... I get the tongue in cheek take on Pat Robertson, but it would be interesting to get Pastor Swope's take on it...or maybe not given the bad P.R. it got P.R.

I run 3 kinds of anti-virus and anti-spyware on my PC,browse via Firefox and the NoScript extension. It's just crazy out there.

  6. I suspect my computer has been zombified, too. I have the very latest virus software, with automatic updates on an almost daily basis, but every day it seems to run a little slower.

  7. I was actually on the 700 club in 1985! :) I have a great conversion story.

I know quite a few Haitian nationals that live here and work at a local mission. I was suprised that they agreed with Pat Robinson.

To me it is as Jesus says in Luke 13:4-5a
"Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no!"

There were a lot of good people who died, and most of the victims still alive were singing praises to God as they were pulled from the rubble. Haiti is a very spiritual nation, mostly Christian and not linked to Voodoo.

I think God cries for Haiti in this time of devestation.

  8. Sorry, that P.R. paraphrase was meant to go with the story above (the screaming bigfoot of the blizzard), where it would sort of make sense.

I know some people think that the first book of the Bible to be written may have been Job. It's sadly ironic that this first message -- that there is no simple, pat answer for suffering -- still eludes so many people.
